Once you've chosen a Pet Sitter for your pet, invite them into your home for a meet and greet before you plan to leave.  You can observe how they interact with your dog or Cat and show them around your home  Tell them where they will find keys, food, emergency contacts, and any instructions, and help them to get to know your pet, such as:
  1. Your pet's name, breed, age and medical history such as a recent surgery, medical conditions, allergies, etc.
  2. Your Vet´s information.
  3. Tricks and behaviors, including any verbal cues or hand signals, and how do you deal with your pet's                  behaviors.
  4. Behavioral or medical information on your pet, such as your pet's recent surgery.
  5. If your pet requires any prescribed medicine and how to administer.
  6. What is your pet's daily schedule such as how much do they poop, when and where,. and how much they will eat, and where the pet supplies and food are kept including dry food, wet food, and any treats that are permitted.
  7. For dogs, Is there a designated walking route or park, what gear they are walked with and where is it kept, how does your dog behave on a walk, and whether they would like their dog interacting with people or other dogs.
  8. Where they should park i.e.: drive way, street, guest parking, etc.
  9. If they are staying the night, where will they sleep, TV and Wi-Fi information,
  10. If you would like them to get your mail, and where you would like the mail and package deliveries placed.
  11. If there are any alarms or off limit areas.
  12. Your emergency contact information.

Items 1 thru 12 are basic.  Your Pet Sitter should offer a comprehensive information form that goes into every detail of your pet's life, conditions and behaviors.

Leaving your pet in good hands with a professional, licensed, and insured Pet Care Provider who knows Pet CPR 1st Aid provides peace of mind for you and your Pet Sitter.  This will set  your Pet Sitter up for success.

Peace of mind is the goal for you. If you would like more information about our services please follow us on Instagram @Pawtailspetcare
